Age Friendly Communities
Many seniors chose to downsize from a family home to condos. Condos make living easier for many. There are many age friendly communities in Memphis and the surrounding areas that have all of the amenities one would need to make the transition into their new life easier. Many of these communities offer gated security, pools, tennis courts, golf courses, shopping is close by, and in many cases, they are close to hospitals, and EMT services if a problem arises.
Less Work
For many people when they move they don’t want to move into something they need to put a lot of time and effort into. Some people prefer to put the work into a fixer upper, and have everything done to their liking. But, let’s face it when you go into the buying process you may not have any money left over to do the expensive renovations. Many condos are completely done and don’t need much work, and if they do need work then the reno budget usually isn’t too high due to the smaller square footage.
Conveniences
Millennials, and seniors alike are really drawn to condo life in the Memphis are to be a part of the action. Being walking distance to the restaurants, bars, and city events are high on many peoples list. Many millennials aren’t quite ready to take the initial plunge into suburban life, and have to drive far distances to get to all of the things that they love in the city. The city of Memphis has really grown in the past few years to become a great city with a lot to do for all ages.
Competitive Market
It’s no secret that the housing market is on fire! One of the things that we find is that millennials, and seniors are looking for are affordability, but because it’s such an issue, and competition is so high, many are choosing condo life. Condos are appealing to many due to the availability, and the proximity they offer to everything. Also, the resale on condos in the city are considerably higher than they are in the suburban areas. A condo can also be a rental property if you choose to move out.
